The woman from Lewisham, Sydney, said she could barely afford to buy a cup of coffee last week. “ I might go buy an entire cafe now”, she joked, after discover about her giant win. The young mother said, that the first thing she plan on buying with the money is a house for her family.
“ When I told my husband, I almost gave him a heart attack. I was calling him from the other room. I ran up to him and said ‘I think I’ve just won Powerball.’ “ I’m still pinching myself.”
As well as winning the $20,000,000 division one entry, the mother also won division two’s PowerHit 19 times – adding an extra $552,555 for her total prize.
She said the road had been a bit rocky for her and the family recently as she and her husband had to bounce between work and looking after their young kids.
There was a second division one win of $20 million in Western Australia, and so far that winner remains a mystery.
The Sydney woman’s six winning numbers were 10,17,35,40,22 and 30, and the Powerball number was 7.
