For only the 3rd time in history, both games are offering Jackpots of more than $300,000,000 at the same time.
Lotto-lovers from all around the world got another week to dream big and fantasize a luxurious life. Yet again, Powerball and MegaMillions are exceeding the $300M barrier. It is only the 3rd time in history that both draws have such an enormouse prize, simultaneously. Last time it happend, actually, occurred only last December. The first time was in August. It seems as if 2018 is going to be a fruitful year, just like 2017 was.
Although both Jackpots are huge, non of them serves as record-breaking. For 1 of them to break into the Top-10 list, it will have to surpass the $487M prize claimed by 1 ticket holder back in July 2016. It is pretty fair to assume that with another rollover, the current Powerball will make it to this honorable list.
In the most recent time a similar thing had happen, last January, MegaMillions was the first to be claimed. 20-year-old Shane Missler of Florida was the sole winner of the collosal $450M Jackpot. Missler purchased the winning ticket at a 7-Eleven convenience store in his hometown of Port Richey. He chose the numbers using the “quick-pick” option.
The Powerball Jackpot was “harvested” a day after. A still-anonymous winner from New Hampshire have won the life shaking amount of $559M. Although she wishes to stay unidentified, the fact that she signed at the back of her winning ticket could work against her. It is in fact legaly meant that the winner gave up her right to disguise herself from the public eye.
